LNER Community Stadium Takes Part in North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Training Exercise

A large-scale multi-agency training exercise took place at the LNER Community Stadium on Wednesday, July 15th, lead by North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service Crews and supported by North Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Safety and cleaning staff from York Stadium were also called upon to execute the mass decontamination exercise alongside blue light services. The scenario in place tested all parties on their reaction and response to an incident where the public required decontamination.

Group Manager – York and Selby District Lee Adkin said: “I would like to thank the stadium for allowing us access to their site and facilities. Working in partnership with other organisations allows us to test the effectiveness of our response if a real incident of this kind was to occur and continually improve our service to the community.”

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service also went on to say: “A huge thank you to all the crews, staff, volunteers and partner organisations whose professionalism, teamwork and commitment made the day such a worthwhile exercise. We’d also like to thank the team at the LNER Community Stadium for their support and for providing access to their facilities.”
