England Men return to York to host open training session

The England Men’s rugby squad will head back to York to host an open training session on Friday 28th February.

The session, which falls in the second fallow week of the 2025 Guinness Six Nations, will be held at the LNER Community Stadium, home of York City Football Club and York Rugby League Football Club, with tickets available for free (£1 booking fee per ticket applies).

Steve Borthwick’s men made the trip north during last year’s addition of the Six Nations and will do the same as they prepare for the Round 4 clash against Italy at Allianz Stadium.

The LNER Community Stadium is one of the host venues for the upcoming 2025 Rugby World Cup and will host six matches during the competition.

“We really enjoyed our time in York last year, and it made sense to go back again to continue preparations for the last two rounds of the Six Nations,” said Borthwick,

“The welcome we received at the LNER Community Stadium was brilliant, and we’re excited to do it all over again. The buzz around York to host matches for the 2025 World Cup is clear to see and I’m sure it will be a superb host city.”

“The players can’t wait to get back to York and see everyone at the open training session,” said Maro Itoje, England Men’s captain.

“Last time, even though the weather was unpredictable, the atmosphere was incredible. It will be an important week of preparation, but it will be great to share what we do in our training sessions with the public.”

Group bookings for ten or more people, as well as dedicated Accessibility bays and seating, can be arranged via our Ticket Office directly.

The Ticket Office is open every day inside the LNER Community Stadium’s atrium, between 10am – 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am – 2pm on Saturday and Sundays.
