Since opening in 2021, York SMC have continued to grow regional, national and international awareness of the qualities of the Stadium.
We are extremely proud that our deliberate strategy of continual improvement and investment has attracted some of the largest names across a number of elite sports.
As well as being the home ground for York City Football Club and York RLFC, we have been privileged to host first team pre-season friendly fixtures for Leeds United Football Club, as well as a number of Premier League 2 and cup fixtures for their Under 21s team.
Sheffield United also visit the Stadium on a regular basis for Under 21 fixtures, our reputation of outstanding pitch and facilities continues to increase with many more exciting events planned for the future.

November 2022
Women's Rugby League World Cup
The first World Cup held at the LNER Community Stadium, hosting Group B matches and the Semi Finals featuring England.
May 2023
RFL Summer Bash
The Championship Summer Bash headed to York, with eight fixtures taking place across two days.
March 2024 & February 2025
England RFU
England Rugby Union host two Men's Open Training sessions in York, selling over 15,000 free tickets.
March 2025
England's Red Roses
England's Red Roses started their 2025 Six Nations campaign with a 38-5 victory over Italy, in front of a record-breaking 8,391 attendance.
May 2025
Challenge Cup Semi Finals
RL Commercial held two Challenge Cup Semi Final events, featuring Hull KR v Catalans Dragons & Wigan Warriors Women v Leeds Rhinos Women, breaking the stadium record attendance with 8,402.
August & September 2025
Women's Rugby World Cup
Women's Rugby World Cup took over the venue to bring six pool fixtures across three weekends to York, attracting just under 40,000 spectators in total, with USA v Australia arguably playing out the game of the tournament in 31-all thriller.
